The Dig-Out

Well, overall we got just over two feet of snow. It finally stopped falling late yesterday afternoon - now DC begins the long dig-out process. It is supposed to stay cold for the next several days with more snow on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tom is on watch today. We got the car dug out yesterday, but luckily he was able to get a ride with a coworker with a big truck who lives right around the corner from us. There is so much snow on the roads that the Subaru might not have enough clearance in some places.

Here are a few pictures which don't really seem to capture the amount of snow out there. I think it is going to stick around for quite a few days!

Our house:

I will probably stay in all day - we walked out to meet some people last night and we made quite a pair with Tom still hobbling a bit with his broken toes and me waddling along! No worries - if I do go out I will be very careful and take my hiking poles for stability (per Tom's orders).
