Flowers in Bloom

Before O came along and started getting all of the camera time, I used to take a lot of photos of flowers.  The garden is in full bloom right now.  I took some pictures the other day, and counted at least 16 different types, and there were already a few that have past their prime.  I have no idea what this purple and white flower is, but it is really different.

I will refrain from sharing all twenty some flower pictures...

For good measure, here is a shot of the little guy at dinner tonight.  He has been a good boy, so we went out for dinner.  He loves eating in a restaurant, lots of people to watch and in this place, he can see the "cooking man".

Tom will be home this weekend.  O sure will be happy to see Daddy...

Helmet Head

In the bathtub, O likes to pretend his boat is a motorcycle helmet.  The other night he was telling me about how he was going for a ride with Daddy on their motorcycles.  He told me that Daddy's bike is in the garage, and that his motorcycle is in the garage too.  When I asked him more about his motorcycle, he said "I potending, Mom.", then made engine noises as he scooted around the tub.  He is a funny boy.

Ready for a ride.

Pre-realization that I was taking pictures.

Post-realization.  Cheese!

Giving the Captain a boat ride.
We are doing well without Daddy home.  O asks about him constantly, which is a good thing.  He knows that Daddy is gone on a trip on his boat, but being two, does not quite grasp the time piece of it. Every day he declares "Daddy's home!" at some point and runs to the front door.  So sweet.  He is doing really well at his new school, the adjustment was much easier than I feared.  He likes going there, and talks about it at home all the time.

Work for me has really picked up now that I am more into the job.  It is busy, but also interesting and engaging.  I have great people to work with, so I am fortunate in that.

The weekend his here, so we are going to the Farmer's Market today (if the little guy ever gets up out of bed) and I think we will go play at the beach today too.  Last night after work we met my friend Steph and her two little girls for an outdoor music concert in Alameda.  It was nice, and I was glad I had made plans to meet Steph there.  Otherwise, I probably would have not left the house once we got home from work yesterday.

Happy 4th!

We enjoyed the Alameda Fourth of July parade this morning.  Reportedly, it is the second longest in the nation (3.3 mile parade route).  It was a bright sunny morning, perfect for a parade.  We met some friends and set up camp to watch the festivities.

I am sure you can guess what O's favorite part of the parade was...

Enjoy your July 4th celebrations!
