We had a nice Easter today. The weather was beautiful, the sun was shining and Baby-O was smiling!

We had brunch at home this morning and then went for a walk and lounged in the park for a while. The little man was not quite sure about the grass at first, but he came around to it.

A few shots from earlier in the week with his lion pillow from Grandma. He loves to tackle and hug the lion - it is pretty cute!

Of course, once he sees the camera he comes right for me.

Big Day!

We had Baby-O's first birthday party yesterday. It was a big success - thanks to lots of help from family!

Happy Birthday!

Wow - it has been a whole year - it is hard to believe! Baby-O has grown so much and our lives have changed so much, and I would not trade it for anything.

Here he is a year ago...

And today...

Two Sundays

April 4th, 2010

April 3rd, 2011

Baby-O and I ventured down to the Tidal Basin for the Cherry Blossoms today. I wanted to go because Tom and I spent the morning down there the Sunday before he was born last year. The lesson of today: don't go the Tidal Basin on the only nice weekend day during the Cherry Blossom Festival. There were so many people, it was insane! But, I got my picture - so it was worth it.

Opening Day

Tom and I went to opening day at Nationals Park today. They played (and lost to) the Braves in beautiful 40 degree and rainy weather. We actually stayed for most of the game - the little man was in daycare. Today was his last day at the Bolling daycare - he will miss his caregivers there and I know they will miss him too. He is starting at Coast Guard Headquarters tomorrow - Tom will be able to go down and see him during the day now, and I will be able to when I transfer there July.

Click Clack Alligators

Baby-O's new favorite thing is his walker. If he keeps it lined up right, he goes all the way across the house and when he gets to the end he turns around with one arm up in the air as if to say, "Come over here and turn me around!". He is such a cutie!

More Visitors

Baby-O sure is popular. Grandma and Grandpa left on Wednesday and Nan and her friend Cindy came to visit on Sunday:

We had a nice time with them, and our little man is getting used to having extra people around.

I think Nan enjoyed it too...

We recently learned that it makes different noises if you cover your mouth with your hand while yelling. It is pretty cute to see him do it, even if he does have beets all over his face:
