He was crying until Dad turned the music on - he really likes music! Sorry the video is a little jumpy - I need to get better at holding the camera still.

Dance Party

Tom and Baby O have dancing time in the evenings when Tom gets home from work. The baby really likes the music and I think he is showing promise in terms of rhythm. Here's my cutie just relaxing on the boppy - in a rare moment of being happy without being held!
He slept six hours straight last night! This morning, however, he made up for that. He did give me a few minutes of peace in the bouncy chair though, and now he is finally napping today. By my calculations this should be a long nap since he has not really slept much today yet aside from a brief nap in the stroller, but it seems babies don't really play by any rules, so I could be wrong!

Comfortable?

Personally, I don't think this looks comfortable, but what do I know. He slept for a while like this - and I had to keep checking to make sure he was OK. After a bit, he turned his head to the side. Silly baby.

Baby Fix

Sorry for the lack of updates. We had quite a week last week. Lots of changes at home (such as Dad going back to work and working extra long hours because of the oil spill, a growth spurt for the little guy, and Mom not feeling well) collided to make one tough week!

We are getting back to normal now, thankfully, but there was not much non-eating, non-screaming opportunity for pictures last week. Baby-O did have his first really submerged bath this weekend, and he loved it. That is not surprising, since Mom and Dad are both water bugs.

On another note - baby clothes are annoying. Both of these onsies supposedly fit babies 0-3 months and 8-12 lbs.
Really, how is a Mom supposed to plan out when to use things? And don't even get me started on the pants. Maybe I just have a skinny baby, but the pants that are supposed to go with onsies that fit perfectly, fall right off of him. As I said, annoying.

Waking Up

The little guy - waking up to jazz and Dad's whistling - the beginning is a funny with the eye rolls, but watch the whole thing to get to the smiles!

Porch Days

Wow, it is hot this weekend, and it is only the beginning of May. I thought we left this kind of weather on the other side of the world, when we left Guam. Luckily, we have a great shady porch where we can try to beat the heat!

Yesterday we have a family excursion to the National Arboretum. No pictures, but it was a successful outing, next time we will photo-document.

I have been trying to upload another video, but it is giving me trouble for some reason and I am aggravated by it right now. Perhaps I will try again tomorrow - it is a very cute video.

Sleepy Boy

I just thought this was too cute not to share! He is always fun in the mornings, it is his happy time. We usually have a nice awake happy time in the afternoon also. Today we all got out for a nice long walk, so he had a great nap and some fun playing on his blanket. Right now, I have him in the Baby Bjorn - what a great invention! He loves it, and I have two hands free.

We are all doing well here. Tom got home yesterday afternoon, now we have a big decision to make about the house in Connecticut.

I am doing well, my recovery is going much faster than I thought it would at first. I feel better and better every day. Before I know it, I will be back to my regular activities.

Three Weeks Old

Today is Baby-O's three week birthday! Yesterday we had a pediatrician's appointment, the little guy is now 9lbs 4oz and still 22 inches long. The doctor was happy with his weight gain, and he is already meeting milestones that are normal for a few weeks from now like lifting his head and watching things. I think he is brilliant!

Here are two pictures from three weeks ago today. I can't believe it has been three weeks already, he is growing up fast.

I think it is funny that Tom is wearing a hat. Apparantly, the room was very cold, but I kept asking for the heat to be turned down - I was so hot!


Tom will be home later this afternoon. The baby is pretty excited that Dad is on his way home!
